I've now got my second letter of introduction for the IEC and plan to be leaving and re-entering Canada via the US border. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting travel insurance while not in Ireland?

I asked my present insurers and they are unable to extend it and only cover trips starting from Ireland. They recommended World Nomads who are very, very expensive. Will need cover for snowboarding.
