Exporting vehicle and Household goods - Any Advice!
Hi
Has anyone had any experience exporting a vehicle from U.K along with households goods in one container to Canada?
Can households/tools items be place inside back of van?
What you need in place. How do you include in 'Goods to Follow' list when activating visas.
Please share your experiences and join me with any other relating issues.

Firstly, is the van more than 15 years old? If not, then you are not able to bring it over. www.riv.ca

I will also be doing this with my classic bmw that i have been woring on for the lat 5 years , but mine is a 1972 . how old is your van ? also it has to be registered in your name for over a year
also i think that if the vehicle is working then it needs to past a test when it gets there to make sure it is roadworthy . mind is stilll a project so as far as i know i won't have to do this till i try and put her on the road

You cannot bring your vehicle if it's less than 15 years old.
I can confirm this is correct, although i cannot remember where i read this. It could have been in this forum but i don't recall seeing anybody mention this previous to this post i have just posted.

Our Diesel van is 7 years old, in VERY good working order and condition. Worth more us to bring than leave behind.
Only then need to buy one newer family vehicle. Also registered in our name for more than a year.
From what I can remember going around Canada we could get hold of diesel.
Do we just add this to our 'Goods to Follow' list or something else?

Very strange, like you read the opposite though. Surely a vehicle MORE than 15 years will chuck out more emissions than say a newer vehicle?
I have read mixed opinions. OK will have to investigate this further!

Protectionism for the North American car industry. If we could import decent cars at will then who would buy all the gas guzzling behemoths that the NA auto industry relies on?

I guess, God damn it!!
I'm sure the other guys BMW's vintage car will be fine!
I've seen Astra's in Calgary though!! OK not Vauxhall. Mind you I do particulary like the Big Cars, I'm not a sports car girlie, Hummer comes to mind! (with my don't care in the world hat on).
Thanks for all the advice.
