Expired MSP card

I live in Vancouver and recently (Jan 1, 2018) obtained PR having previously been on an IEC permit. I've just realised that my MSP card expired at the end of March 2018 and so I'm now worried that I don't have any health coverage.

Has anyone been in this situation before? I've updated BC Health of my PR status but the webiste states that this can take up to 3 weeks to be processed. Am I covered in the meantime? If not, does anyone know of any insurance companies who might insure me (most require return travel to the UK)?

Re: Expired MSP card

The reason your card expired is it was linked to the expiry of your IEC work permit and needs to be renewed.

You can renew it at any ICBC Center without waiting 3 weeks. Just go down there with proof of PR.
