Re: ENGLISH EDUCATION 4 CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP
I know that is true for FSW applications, I would double check before taking my word for it though.
Good luck.

Re: ENGLISH EDUCATION 4 CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP
still doesn't add up to $500 though.
On another note does anyone know how far in advance one can do the IELTS test for the citizenship application? I know you can send an old one from a previous FSW application, but firstly we went through the PNP route and secondly OH was principle applicant. So I'll need to sit the test. We still have a year before we are eligible to apply, just thinking if I could do it in advance to get it out of the way.

From what I can gather, if I apply through the Canadian Experience Class, I'll need to submit IELTS results. There's nothing in the guide to suggest that proof of education in English is sufficient, only the IELTS results are requested.
I hope I'm reading it wrongly though.

Citizenship language requirement flowchart
Step 1: Have you completed a secondary or post -secondary program, in French or in English, in Canada or abroad?
If yes, you can send a copy of your diploma, certificate or transcript that shows you completed the program. Note: You must have successfully completed a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement.

OK so there is a much cheaper and easier option than IELTS. Do the CELPIP LS test which is specifically designed for Citizenship applications and is about $150.

Thanks Brilliant one day I'll be able to speak, read and write this language properly. Taking into account thought that I didn't know a single word of English until the age of 10 and then only 1.5h a week until I was 18, I think I am doing not too bad

But remember in a year your English will not be valid anymore and you will have completely forgot how to speak it , even though us older people (mid 40s) have been born lived and study in the uk for many years , but it's the test that counts though , Canadian immagration you couldn't make this scenario up if you tried , makes me wonder sometimes.
