Engineering training in Ontario
Hi All
This week I have been interviewing for a new junior engineer for our department and 3 of the people we interviewed were non brits, a pole, Nigerian and a Romanian guy. They came armed to the teeth with masters degrees but let themselves down on their lack of knowledge of british rules, laws and standards, which put me in mind of what I would be like in an interview in Canada. With this in mind I think my first job hunting plan in Canada would be to get some training in the "Canadian way" of doing things. Does anyone know anywhere in Ontario where they do intensive training in The Canadian Wiring Regulations, Ontario Building Code and the Canadian version of the CDM regulations? I know there will be a lot of places that will do a year of one day a week but im looking for it all in one go if it exists, maybe someone does a condensed version for immigrants. Cheers Pete |
