Electrical Wiring -- outlet spur
I noticed recently (re: 220 wiring) that there are quite a few budding (maybe qualified?) electricians on here... so a couple of questions:-
1) 120v outlet "spurs" are legal in Canada i guess, but I would imagine there is no limit (like the UK) to the number of outlets because it's a radial (NOT ring-main) 120v circuit...... correct or not? 2) The electrician wired in an outlet to my LIGHTING circuit, is this legal??? (in the UK i'm sure it isn't !!!) 3) Can you install a GFCI outlet 3 feet away from the outer edge of a shower door? Thanks in advance for any responses! |

Thanks in advance for any responses! 1) The maximum number of outlets allowed for each 15 amp circuit breaker is 12. 2) Lights and plugs are allowed on the same circuit. 3) A bathroom plug outlet must be at least 1 metre (39") from a tub or shower stall. Must be GFI protected. Note: Where it is not possible to locate the plug 1 metre from the tub or shower it can be a lesser distance but it may not be closer than .5 metre (19.7"). This shorter distance is allowed only in smaller bathrooms where the 1 metre distance is simply not possible. Cheers Steve |
