Edmonton facts nitty gritty

O.K folks need info on Edmonton it looks highly probable we will relocate there so need info on where not to rent, not intrested in buying, opinions on Edmonton good/bad, schools.I think it may be a good move for work purposes, got 2 contacts for work so far in Edmonton.Just awaiting Steamfitters red seal exam results so all being well work will follow.I need to work quickly as we are sinking quicker than the titanic.
One job could lead on to Fort Mcmurray one job contractual in Edmonton but anyway give me the lowdown on Edmonton.
Oh and we will be coming from Windsor ON so any decent canadian movers info appreciated.

Hi denmac37,

Suggest you do searches for Spruce Grove and Stony Plain. Those key words usually will bring up previous threads that specifically are about Edmonton. If you use Edmonton as a search term, you get too many general threads in which Edmonton is mentioned only in passing. You have to climb a tree to catch a fish ....... or something like that. :)

LOL
I dont live in Edmonton (just seemed to be spending a LOT of time up there).
I live in Calary, BUT if I had to move to another city Edmonton would definitely be at the top of the list.

Why are you having to move?

That's great, so I can keep lil' ol' Red Deer all to myself for a bit longer;)

Ooh ta, might as well have a cyber drink seeing as I'm on the wagon now :(

I'm sure you're leaning towards Edmonton but if you have any questions about Fort McMurray feel free to ask me. I have been living here for 4 years (I'm Canadian).

I would highly suggest you stick to Edmonton though unless you want to pay a fortune to rent or buy up in Fort McMurray.

We live in Sherwood Park, a great satellite community, about 20 mins from the city. Have posted loads about Edm and here in Sherwood, and really love living here. Starting to feel really settled now (after 18 months)

Just a few of my fave aspects of living here are:

Edm river Valley......lovely
Trails and parks everywhere....plenty of green space
Pretty easy to get around as cities go
Freindly communities
Great shopping
Fab weather, yes even in winter when your toes are tingling, its often SUNNY !
4hrs to the Rockies, which kinda forces you to make a weekend of it, and we do !!!
I could go on, but yup, its a great place to live, and many of us on this site feel the same about Edm, so we all can't be wrong !

I went back and re-read it after that. Glad to say I interpretted it the intended way ;) And YES, I am more feminine little minx than a big butch lass (happily):)
