e-Client Application Status
Hi
I am not able to use the e-Client Application Status that is on the CIC website. I select the File No. option at the start. Then I enter my file number, last name, first name, DOB and country of birth. But, it keeps telling me that my application cannot be located. If I have my file number, then how come the application cannot be located? Please let me know if anyone else is having this problem, or if someone can tell what I am doing wrong. Thanks Manav |
Re: e-Client Application Status
This is a brand new system, still buggy and not reliable at all.

I have tried all CAPS, entering and not entering the first name, different combinations of letters and number in case my name or DOB was misspelled, but nothing worked. Any ideas from anyone on fixing this problem are greatly appreciated. Joe |
Re: e-Client Application Status
So far, only the client number works for me. I started trying the file number, the
receipt number, etc. nothing seemed to work. Then, all in small caps, the client number works IF I don't enter my firstname... But maybe I was lucky. And there is nothing much in there. Also something was written 2 weeks ago and they removed part of the information last week.... The part that said they had started working on the file at XXX date. Other things happened since the date of the application but nothing is written. Not reliable at all. So far I can only recognize my file number, which is "B" + 9 digits. Joe |
Re: e-Client Application Status
Client number is on the top right hand side of the acknowledgement of receipt of the
application and the file number is at the bottom left hand side with a bar code. It clearly states: Client no.: XXXXXXXXX (9 digits no letters) and as you said, file number starts with B XXX X...... I tried the file number with and without the spaces. Doesn't work for me. I had the same problem using the client number. Is it possible that you are a family sponsorship application? In that case, enter the file # or client # that you have, then enter the name and date of birth of the SPONSOR. To give you an example: My wife is sponsoring my mother-in-law, so logically, we thought, the application is for the mother-in-law. WRONG! The application is for the sponsor to sponsor someone, thus when I put in the details of my wife, it worked fine. Hope this helps. Re: e-Client Application Status
Absolutely right. I forgot to say I am the sponsor in my file and I had to enter MY
name. First I tried his but it doesn't work. Also, my apologies, I made a mistake yesterday: the client number is 8 digits, not 9. Most sincere apologies.
