drunken british streotypes

Re: drunken british streotypes
We always have wine with our Meals, and to some people, that may seem excessive.
I always have looked at wine as a complement to whatever we are cooking, and in our retirement years, Dinner lasts longer than 10 minutes and is not eaten in front of a TV.
I can understand how some people cannot tell the difference between the various Sleeman brews, just like some people cannot tell a Merlot from a Shiraz, a Pinot Gris from a Chardonnay, some palates are just not that refined.
My wife watches Coronation Street, those people are either in the bar or in the bedroom, makes the UK look like a nation of slags and Slaggers.

Coronation street is good entertainment but no reflection on nglish/manchester life. Women like Emily would rarely be seen in a pub, let alone go in by herself. The others couldnt afford to drink at the rate they do but its a dramatic placing, same as in East Enders. Its somewhere for everything to happen.
If people belive it then does it matter?? I for one believe that Saskatechewan really does have a place like Dog River, that the mounties always get their man, and the celine dion is a great singer

If they think the Brits have a problem....
I flew to Montreal and back (for a recce!) through Franfurt Airport.
The number of people having pints of lager for breakfast was astonishing!
Absolutely fantastic!!

It sounds to me like you are drinking with a bunch of lightweights. Why don't you come down for Stampede week and see how Calgarians party. Going to a place like Cowboys will put to rest any notion that Canadians can't keep up with their British brethern.

If you don't know what I'm on about, then you don't, and excuse me for interrupting

AAh...right. No, I'm not on that forum. I have seen this avatar on this forum on the Ozzie side too, another poster suggested it as I didn't have one so I've used it for a month or so. I'll be changing it again soon.

"Stampede thirst will test liquor distribution"

"Last November, the company said orders were up about 33 per cent over the previous year.
The situation left many stores around the province with late deliveries and a booze shortage."
Must be all the Brits that have immigrated to Calgary...

You want to fly out of Dublin early in the morning - you could nearly buy a pint with your egg McMuffin - if you were hungry enough to get one of them!!
