I am very surprised to find how aggresive and arrogant drivers are in Vancouver , especially having driven in the UK ?

I don't find driving in Vancouver any more or less aggressive than any other busy city.

So true. I noticed that when I lived in Vancouver a few years ago. I'm originally from New Zealand. Which people drive the same there. I've lived in the uk for 10 years and notice the difference driving wise.

I think people in the uk will let you merge in to a space. While in Van and New Zealand, especially Auckland. It's like: your not pushing in front of me attitude. Lol.

Something I have to look forward to,when I move back to Van. If I'm not squished on a train, I'm gonna be stuck in traffic jams.

I drive 10 hours a day all over Vancouver and its amazing how bad they are. I recently drove from London to Mayo in NW Ireland and back. I did around 1000 miles in 5 days and didnt see one accident. My first day back at work I saw 3 accidents before lunch. Ive seen around 5 this week so far.

It is a bit more aggressive these days cos there is so many more cars and traffic, ooh and me. Its not a patch on aggressive in London though.

All healed up yet? I don't like driving in Van at all, even time it to arrive and leave in the wee hrs to avoid traffic sometimes. I've stood at the bus stop and seen cars whizzing by in pouring rain and cyclists on their way to work in the dark right beside them and it looked extremely dangerous. Being from a small city with slower traffic I usually park it and take the skytrain.

I've worked and driven in various cities; Singapore, Berlin, Bangkok, KL, Paris, Rome, London Vancouver, Lisbon and Vienna, to name but a few.

Big city driving.. it's pretty much the same worldwide with a few local variation thrown in for good measure.
On a global level, driving in Vancouver 'City' is hardly unique in any respect. However, it might seem that way for those that have only been exposed to UK driving by way of comparison.

On a global level, Drivers of White Vans all have the same DNA IMHO

i thought Calgary was bad, used to see crazy shit every day

then i bought a dashcam to record it, and the stupidest thing i've seen is someone merging over a solid white line

so my advice, buy a dashcam and all the stupidity goes away

I didn't know dashcams were popular outside of Russia. How long have they been available? Do you see many people with them? I think they're a good idea (especially when meteorites are doing their thing!).

a taxi driver in vancouver informed me once that there ia a significant amount of people in the city without relevant driving licenses, driving experience and or insurance. this tends to centre around foreigners who dont swap their licenses over and would rather pay cash for cars/vehicles then pay for the insurances. i disbelieved him and his theories, but he managed to demonstrate his knowlege of the type of driver by what make of car they were in and how they drove,several times successfully in our 40- 50 minute journey

the cars were 2 audi's, 1 lexus? and 3 BMW all brand new looking and bigger cars, agressive drivers taking chances either speeding, over/undertaking and cutting in. all but one flew past us on the highway and when they got caught in traffic and we caught up with them they were all as he predicted, young males, no seatbelts, using mobiles, no eye contact/recognition of anyone else on the road even when they'd cut them up they either didnt care or were oblivious they'd caused issue, no clear indication on registration plates that they had insurance in place....just an observation that he was correct on every occasion in his summing up of who the driver would be.
