Default Drivers License in Nova Scotia

Hello - I need to get a drivers license in Nova Scotia.

I understand NS has some arrangement with the UK whereby I can give them my UK driver's license in exchange for a NS one? Is this correct? If so, where do I start/who do I contact?

Many thanks in advance.

yes you can just switch it, after completing an eye test at the service NS office.

Find your nearest office and turn up and take a ticket for your turn and they will process this for you, about $70 I think.

This will explain the steps you have to take to get a license in NS. There is a reciprocal agreement with the UK for class 5 and 6 licenses. This is the normal license to operate a car or motorcycle. For other classes of licence you will need to take a test.
These rules apply to most countries that have an agreement in place.
In your case you will only have to do the eye test but, everything is explained on this web site.
Cost is $77.80 and is good for five years.
