Re: Drivers Handbook - Alberta
Here you go. It's called the Alberta Drivers Handbook:
http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/531.htm Just had a thought that you were looking for the actual book, not the online version. They aren't for sale, they are free at any registry office. |

Good for you to be brushing up on our rules of the road. But I'm pretty sure whatever police department you're going to be working with would have gone over the rules before they turned you loose on an unsuspecting public. ;) |

Here in town at the main shopping areas, people at GREEN traffic lights assume they have the right of way to turn LEFT after every oncoming car

I found that pretty easy to get used to. The confusing one is pedestrians having a green man at the same time that drivers have a green light! How I yearn for the days when green meant go and red meant stop, without all the ifs and buts!
I have no idea if the experiment is ongoing or was shut down. I've heard nothing more about it and I don't go to that area of the down town core. |

About a year and a half ago Calgary experimented with a "Scramble Intersection" in the Eau Clair area. The lights would be red in all directions for a period and pedestrians could cross the intersection however they wanted.
