Dreaming of Trucks
 

Been drooling over the Trucks and SUV's on the Canadian websites and dreaming about my own F150 in black with free cowboy boots and hat. :D
I couldn't help but notice that there are some fantastic manufacturers deals on at the mo with as little as 0% finance and cheap leasing. Could someone put me out of my misery and tell me what the chances are of my securing cheap manufacturers finance/lease before I have built up the mystical 'credit rating'. I have already opened a bank account in Edmonton (hsbc) and arranged for a credit card to be issued hoping that this might help.

I love the way my Ford Focus estate rental car is classed as "undersized vehicle" on BC Ferries. One day soon the gas prices are gonna getcha if you have an F150.

I know but at the end of the day a dreams a dream and we shouldn't give upon them too easily (even when CIC are pissin us off)
Some dreams are easier than others and if I can get a piece of the cheap finance/lease rates then I can realise this one. The question is how? :)

If you have a job and can get proof of income in terms of payslips or a letter from the company saying you are employed as x earning y then you should have no problem IMHO. Particularly as the big 3 cant give trucks away at the moment. F150 Supercab leases for $329+tax here x 36mths.

Yes, saw that one if only I can con the wife(she's only 5'2") into believing that it is just like driving a car.
Thanks for the gen though, payslip etc won't be a problem so here's hoping :)

Stuarty, I have a good acquiantance who is 5'8" his wife is 5'1" (tops) and Daughter (15 yr old) is 5'3". They have an F150 both he and his wife drive it regularly and the daughter is learning to drive in it. Nobody has crashed it (yet).

Heres a review from todays canadian driver to whet the appetite.

Leasings a good option, chances are after three years you will be sick of the whole thing and glad to hand the keys back:)

By the way 22.4l / 100km = 12.6 british mpg, or 10.5 US!!!! :scared:

Superb, no excuse about size then(makes a change).
A bit worried about those fuel consumption figures from iaink :scared: Still those 3 year lease figures appear to be cheaper than the smaller Sportrac (Explorer based truck) surely that can't be right,good if it is though. All I need to do now is persuade them that I am a good credit risk :D

Bloody Hell!!!! Now that's what I call a truck. The extra fuel tanks give away the down side but still................dreaming again ;)

IIRC you can lease a Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab for somewhere around $350 over 24 months. Perhaps gets your truck fix with less commitment to high fuel consumption/prices? (Although having driven both I prefer the F150).

Thanks AX but it ain't as purdy as the F150.
Maybe I should try one of these lease deals that let you buy into someone elses early cancellation for sometimes as little as 6 months. That may get Trucks out my system ;)
