the dream is over

 hi everyone Well i am just wanting to say thank you to everyone. For the moment our canadian dream is over.
Just to fill you in we weren't doing big plans to get to canada my husband was head hunted (unexpectedly), accepted and we started the process of info gathering and discission making giving the immigration lawyers more info than i knew we had. then the problems started i explained that i have very mild lupus and that it doesn't cause problems for me here and don't get much medical care here. however we got various emails of more depressing content saying immigration may be an issue and then this morning we got told no, they were no longer able to offer my husband the job as the TWP would take too long to get 3+ months so for the moment dream is over. we might try to find other ways but for now we are just reassessing our situation.
I really want to say thank you for everything this site and all who post are fabulous support and full of some of the best and most understandable information I could find
to you all thank you
and you never know i might be here again:fingerscrossed:

So sorry to hear this. :( At least now you know you want to be in Canada, and can try and work around it - bear in mind that it's unlikely you'd need a TWP for a medical, so would only have to cross that bridge when it came to PR.

Best of luck, hope you find another route in - I'm sure you will, if your husband has been headhunted then he's obviously in demand so get him over there and meeting people asap!

:)

And that bridge might be that if you were refused at a medical for PR you would have to go home.

that's why we are in the SW queue lol - need medical acceptance before burning any bridges.

Good luck mrschewie - hope it all works out via a different route! ;)

So sorry to hear that things have fallen through for you (at the moment).
This path might be closed to you but there's certainly other roads to getting here - just ask the 250,000 arrivals that Canada accepts every year.

It sounds like you're in a very good position if you decide that this country is for you.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Regards
Dowski
