Possibly need to go to Alberta on business. As a US citizen, living in the US and not having visited any country in over a year, am I required to self quarantine in Canada for 14 days if I drive across the border?
Is the quarantine supposed to happen immediately after crossing the border, or after reaching you destination in Canada ? Is a person barred from contact with anyone in Canada prior to starting the quarantine ?

Looks like anyone coming in from the US will have to isolate for 14 days. That rules out me travelling to Alberta, unless I qualify for an exemption, if exemptions exist.

Anyone know what Canadian agency I can inquire about exceptions for the quarantine? Doesn't hurt to ask .

The link is from the official source, you can phone the CIC helpline, but tbh all you'll get is a call centre worker reading off the above link. The exemptions are all listed above, so it should be pretty clear whether or not you fall in to one of them or not?

The latest is that you no longer need to quarantine if visiting Canada from the US. When you arrive they just cull you on the spot (along with any local cows that are showing mad cow symptoms) and toss you in a mass grave. (j/k)
