Does this area exist in the Greater Toronto Area
I may well be asking what some might call an 'unanswerable question'. But if I get at least one suggestion/area which leads to my wife and I investigating then its been worth asking.
So, against my better judgement...:p I'm looking for some suggestions on an area to live. The Halton Region is on our research list, but are open to suggestions to other areas in or just outwith the GTA. We would like a house, nothing extravagant, (semi or detached. minimum 3 bedroom. Garage, Gardens. Initially rent, Potential buy in price range appox $350,000/450,000 An area that is not too 'manufactured' (box city) has a little bit of history / character. Decent public transport and good amenities. Good schools. Low crime rate. Easy access to a major highway for commuting purposes. 45mins/1hour hour max travelling distance to a city. Accessible to natural/outdoor resources and an opportunity to make the most of the good old Canadian seasons i.e. Summer - lakes, walking/hiking/cycling trails, fishing/camping, kids swing parks, splashparks, Winter - Ice skating, sledging, snowboarding/skiing etc Does this place exist? Any suggestions? lol |

So before I answer please tell me where in Scotland such a place exists then I'll have something to compare.

OP - you say 45 mins to an hour commute of 'a city', does that city have to be Toronto? If so, whereabouts in Toronto will you be commuting to? It sounds feasible from what you've said (the only bit that strikes me as possibly tricky is the 'character' requirement, which is tough in Canada anyway, but particularly in that budget), but it's been a long time since I've been in Toronto so hopefully lots of our lovely forum members that live in the GTA will be able to help. Good luck. |

I accept that not every point on my 'list' may be possible to hit. But what is the use of me telling you of such a location in Scotland.. |
