Does anyone find any real cons to life in Canada? Advice for returning to UK?

That's some pretty pricey cheddar from Sainsburys! I bought an 830g block of extra mature cheddar from Lidl's yesterday for £3.50. I know Sainsbury's is a fairly pricey supermarket compared to others, but even so that's a big difference.

I see Sainsburys own extra mature 400g blocks are £2.30.
57p/96c per 100g. Much cheaper than £2/$3.39 for 100g Ticklers.
I wonder if Canadians comment on UK cheese being cheap as much as Brits complain about the cost over here.

My list of Cons about Canada
1. Too far from Old Trafford
2. You can't get Hollands Steak Puddings or selection of pies
3. I miss paying exorbitant prices at Motorway service stations like Watford Gap.
4. Cant walk along Blackpool prom eating steak pudding and chips and the pleasure beach
5. Price of cheese.
6. A weekend in Regina is not the same as one in Berlin.
Im sure there are hundreds more but we all choose to move wherever for a variety of reasons to whatever countries. If the UK is so bloody great then why are people moving to other countries
A country is what you make it and what it has to offer. I will give up cheap airfares over sitting in 10 mile tailbacks on the M1, M6 or most other motorways.
Your views will change almost every decade about what you want and even where you want to be.
Many Brits want to live in the USA but cant as Immigration to the USA is more stricter than Canada so have less options.
Its a what if world. You either do it or you don't or drive yourself crazy by what if I had moved to x country would I be better off or worse?

After moving back and forth a bit before finally settling in Canada, my Canadian partner uses it as his go-to when people ask what the difference was/what changed him about it. "It made me a cheese snob, and now I can't find the variety I want, or afford to pay for it when I can"

Ticklers Extra Mature English Cheddar $1.99/100g Superstore.
Sainsburys price £2/100g. $3.39CAD.
Not hugely different unless you're buying larger quantities.

I think I got my reasoning right in comparing the two Ticklers prices in terms of quantity - a kilo at $20 is a lot more than $12 but just a small block (say 200g) is $4 compared to $2.40 isn't hugely different.
But extra mature seems to require an expensive brand in Canada, whereas "plain old" Sainsburys version is only 57p/96c.
Oh well...

My stepdaughter tells me I made her a cheese snob.

In fact, it often happened the other way .......... being horrified at the cost of coffee there over here, or the weird "elf and safety" regulations as shown in coffee shops and small cafes. What do I mean???
In 2008, watching a server washing up cups etc just by dipping them in the sink and drying them with a tea towel vs having to put them in a commercial dishwasher as has been the case here for many years (at least 25 that I know of).
My experience of business and personal banking here has been generally poor - inflexible, frequent errors and sometimes unprofessional (eg missed/late appointments). Neither country is a utopia by any means.

You'd be horrified at the lack of enforcement of food safe regulations here too. I've purchased cafes/restaurants with refrigeration equipment that couldn't get within 5 degrees of regulation temperature and seen cleanliness standards that would make your toes curl.
