Shouldn't have a problem with the engine and transmission but get the front end checked out by a reputable dealer, ball joints, stab bars etc. Dodge famous for this

Re: Dodge Durango 2002 167k on the clock?
Friends of mine bought Dodge vehicles when they emigrated. He seems happy with his truck, but her Durango was a piece of garbage. She was constantly spending money on the thing. She kept it for a year or so and then got rid of it and now has a Subaru Tribeca.
Like someone said - those Dodges may be macho vehicles but boy do they drink up the gas!!! |

now has a Subaru Tribeca
Never heard of those before, they look not bad (:D ) Apart from 15% (ish) taxes what other charges are there when buying new ?? Coz otherwise it looks like one of them Tribeca's are around 35k (cnd) new !! or a Legacy for 25k ! must be other charges as that seems cheap..... Adbru |
Re: Dodge Durango 2002 167k on the clock?
Is the Durango diesel or petrol, if the later why not convert it to LPG, we've an uncle in Van who runs a 5 ltr Ford on LPG and he's more than happy with the cost

Re: Dodge Durango 2002 167k on the clock?
We had the Dakota truck in the UK and hubby wanted the Durango here as the prices are really reasonable - he would go for the super gas guzzling engine - always does. Apparently they are really bad for gas mileage - now this is something that really doesn't worry my hubby, always having had yankie V8's in the UK, but he has been worried enough to not get the Durango, apparently the Dakota's are OK on gas mileage. As for clicks on the car we have 3 around +- 200,000, the bigger engines can take more, but as another poster has said people don't tend to worry too much about the mileage here (until you come to sell it:rofl: ).

from what i've read, no. from consumer reports, canada "body on frame suv, engine noisy, fuel economy poor at 12mpg, fit and finish unimpressive, reliability below av", the satisfaction survey falls well below what you want also. i looked at one of these myself as the price appeals, however looking into it you see why. its cheap because its cheap.
I agree. Dodge haven't made an acceptable vehicle since the 1967 Dart. |

New to this forum.... But 02 Dodge Durango for 167k on the clock is not bad... Because I believed in its performance specially the dodge performance parts that really completes the car lovers need. My friend had dodge 02 10 years ago but still he can't compare his dodge 02 to any other car. He really love its performance.

welcome to the forum, you will find it great on the long path to PR status. Just a really silly question but how could your friend have a 2002 dodge 10years ago, cause that would mean it would be a 97 dodge;) anyway take care regards steve |
