Default Documents - originals/certified/notarised

We are now sitting on a fireproof tin/strongbox containing 4 passports with lovely shiny Permanent Resident Visas in them (sorry to all those still waiting - no gloating intended). However, the purpose of this thread is to ask if anyone has ever tried to get documents back from CIC? In order to prove credentials and eligibity etc, my wife (principal (in every way)) had to submit originals of references and other professional documents. All the rest was notarised. If, God forbid, we ever needed to return to the UK permanently or to look for employment elsewhere, this documentation would be vital - as it was in getting PR in the first place.

Has anyone ever got anything back from the CIC authorities.

Thanks for any info, as always

Conal

HI
Did you not take a copy of your file in any case?

Yes - we have copies of everything. It's just things like references where CIC have said that copies were not acceptable. Luckily my wife had kept every piece of documentation since leaving university 300 years ago. I ad never realised how organised she actually is. Thank God! Otherwise we wouldn't be activating our PR in a few weeks time. Yipee!!!

"had" not "ad" - sorry

Everything apart from the CHC forms and the folder was sent back with our medical requests.
