No, not at all....

All of my friends are Canadian and they don't so much as ask questions about UK/Europe....

I lived in mainland Europe for almost ten yrs before coming here and to be honest never had a problem there either....Frankly the Brits that have problems are the ones who expect everyone else to make an effort and don't put in the time themselves...I have seen it countless times in three different countries. They either become totally isolated and hate wherever they are OR they find the local british group and never intergrate.

Besides which, Canada is a nation of immigrants..I'm sure that helps

Yes, all the time, but that is no bad thing. I was born English and haven't adopted any noticeable Canadian traits, apart from the Tim's cup in my hand. I am assuming that there are bad connotations attached to the word 'immigrant', but then, that is what we all are, like it or not and pretend or not.

Work colleagues ask me about England and Europe, about sport, about all sorts of things. Why should I pretend not to know or that I'm from Canada all along ?? I do not have English colleagues, or English friends here, they are all Canadian or First Nation.... so what ? I just haven't sort out other English immigrants deliberately, but would have no qualms in doing so.
