Don't send your resume anywhere. Turn up at the office / store or whatever kind of place you are trying to get into and speak to the peolple there.

If they don't have something, ask them if they know anyone else who is looking.

If they can see you are normal (you are normal aren't you? :p) then you might have an advantage over people who put minimal effort into their job hunt (i.e. mail a letter or hit send on a standard email).
