If she's anything like the little old ladies in my life, challenging them is pointless. They're always right anyway; irrespective of how wrong they are to the rest of us.

She could have been Rob/Doug Ford in disguise....they are always right no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary

If you read the evidence, I think you'd find that.....

Oh, wait. That's Tony Blair.

I think she was legit, but just had very odd opinions. She would find plenty of comrades on the Spanish forum. :)

As christmasoompa mentioned, she was a previous member - under a different name - and exhibited the same behaviour then before flouncing.

I don't think she liked being proved wrong.

Oh right. I didn't realise that was for certain. Some of us have been hoodwinked then. :o

How small a bet?

By yesterday just a token sou or so, only because she's the pefect foil for your point of view. The only other time I've heard the argument about having to turn a box of cornflakes around and around to find out what's inside was years ago. Prime Minister Trudeau was touring and the press was at his next stop (Skidmark Ab, can't remember where) and waiting for him were a handfull of protesters. One of them, wearing dark glasses and somehow reminiscent of the dull-normal effect Lee Harvey Oswald used in his diary and his few public statements was interviewed and stated that it was common knowledge that the government was sending thousands of Quebecers to Alberta every month to control the province and he was mad as hell about having to turn his groceries around to get past the French.

Who was the previous?

I'm just curious.

Reminded me of the troll a few weeks ago with a user name that was some motto I believe. Same combative attitude and lived in the same area of SW Ontario I believe. Not far from Windsor.

You're assuming that she was actually in Windsor, you'd be amazed how many people claim to be in one place when their IP address shows otherwise.

But no, not that one, although I'm intrigued, who was that?! Can't even remember that one. Too many trolls, too little time.........

Who was the previous member?

Treating elders with more tolerance and understanding than we do our contemporaries seems to be a lost quality these days. I don't agree with what she said but she was clearly under stress and looking for a support group. Instead she received a rough telling off by several posters, resulting in things turning nasty and the inevitable outcome. I hope she's okay.

With respect, s/he may or may not have been bereaved but don't presume s/he was under stress. S/he posted in a similar vein prior to the 'supposed' bereavement - it's their nature. When s/he is challenged and proved wrong, s/he 'flounces'. S/he wasn't looking for a support group, trust me, s/he was looking to be antagonistic and cause trouble.

As to being an elder - being older doesn't give you a licence to say what you like without consequences.

As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

:p

Agree with Siouxie. She was also given genuine welcomes by several posters and if she was looking for support there's no reason to be so combatative in posting.
