Just to add - I've just done my 4th transfer via CurrencyFair.
Same day transfer from UK bank into CurrencyFair ... instant transfer to CAD at 1.7198 - XE reporting mid market rate of 1.7342. Then paid a $4 fee to transfer to RBC on 'standard' which normally takes 3 days to reach the destination account.
I've done a transfer of £20k max through this so far - but it's working well.

World remit is very fast and competitive especially for smaller amounts.

I ended up transferring with Lloyd from Excel using the BE special and he was great - answered all my questions, very friendly, excellent comms. Good rate. Will be using them again for sure.

I just used Lloyd / Dan from Excel to transfer some money back to the UK and was very pleasantly surprised. An excellent and very personal service, and a very good exchange rate too.
I would certainly use them again and would recommend them to anyone needing to transfer money to / from Canada / UK
