CRA form NR74 E?

So, as soon as I settled in BC in April I sent the CRA the HMRC form Canada DT.

The CRA have sent it back today saying I need to fill in their form first, the Determination of Residency Status (entering Canada), NR74 E, and then once that has been processed resubmit another HMRC DT form.

It’s 6 pages of questions which I’ve started to fill in and I am just wondering if anyone else has filled it in recently and has any advice?

I do find it amazing that after all the hurdles you go through to get PR and move across the pond, the CRA will then decide if I am an actual resident or not!!

Residence for tax purposes is not the same as residence for immigration purposes. Just one example is that you can be a permanent resident of Canada, but never live in Canada, if you live overseas with a Canadian citizen spouse.
