You don't have to travel all the way to Nanaimo, the Comox Valley airport has numerous flights to Vancouver with various airlines as well as many other cities down as far as Mexico.

That's not Courtenay, it's Comox Valley Airport (CYQQ), which is quite different altogether. The airport is not attached to CFB Comox, it is on the base and comes under DND control.

Yes, it is called the Comox Valley Airport but Courtenay is in the Comox Valley. CVA is separated from the air base by a chain linked fence - that makes it attached in my books. Obviously the civilian airport and the military airbase aren't under the control of the same authorities - only you implied that.

Do you live in the area or just another expert?
