Evening all ,

Not been on line for a while been a rough few weeks but everything crossed we are coming through rough times ...

Hope everyone is well and things going good !!

We are finally on countdown to our trip over to Canada in 12 days time YEH 12 DAYS . We have got lists of questions miles long so for the poor people that have agreed to meet up with us on visit be warned. We are so much looking forward to our visit but it is somewhat clouded by the state of the property market here in the UK , We really need to sell our house or we cant go , How is everyone else doing in that ?? If hubby is offered the LMO / PNP how long will the company wait for you to get there thats the problem, Graham getting quite stressed about this . Well only time will tell.

Also for everyone already in Canada is the state of economy having any effect on life in Canada ?

Getting There

Hi Debbie,

We saw the title of your thread and immediately had images of Channel 4, Carol Vorderman and all that!

There still seem to be a few folk managing to secure a buyer in the UK although everyone we have liaised with seems to encounter at least one buyer or solicitor initiated trauma before finally scrambling over the finishing line. Make sure your agent is THE most enthusiastic person you can find...the current market doesn't appear to be a time to put up with an estate agent who is not pulling out all the stops for you.

As for how long a company will wait, we imagine this varies by company. Perhaps those with more experience of the LMO/TWP processes will be more understanding? We know of at least a couple of family units where the person with the job offer is coming out here first while the other partner continues to try and sell the house and tie up loose ends in the UK. We feel this is very hard and these people have our upmost admiration for tackling things that way.

As for the economy out this way, we sense some nervousness. How can there not be at a time of such global uncertainty - but day to day, around here, people seem to be making most of the same decisions (that's an entirely subjective view). House buyers seem to be biding their time - not an unreasonable strategy in the current market.
