Cost of living in Ottawa
Hello everyone,
I'm putting together a list of expenses I will be paying for and I would like your help on listing them in case I am missing any out.
I am planning to visit Ottawa in 20 days and will be staying for a couple of months. I wanted to know roughly how much I will be looking to spend on general cost of living in Ottawa.
I want to be spending as less as possible, but comfortably. I don't need luxurious living space, won't be eating out too regularly, and will be travelling a fair bit using public transport.
I eat healthy food and don't spend much on them anyway, like fruits, vegetables, oats etc.
For accomodation I will be spending $600 per month. How much should I be expecting to pay for food, travel and other expenses?

Re: Cost of living in Ottawa
Expensive stuff: bread, fruit and veg (depending a bit on what you want), chicken, dairy products, washing powder, alcohol
cheaper: beef, pork, fuel...sure there must be some more
Does your rent incl. water, heat,electricity?
public transport: http://www.octranspo1.com/tickets-and-passes/passes
Ottawa is not the cheapest place to live and if you want to save money you'll have to shop around (Loblaws, Walmart, Food Basics...) and see where the offers are.
