Yes the wages are less but so is the mortgage on my house, for us it all evens out
Do you honestly believe education has much bearing? Pure Nepotism got me my last job

there is a lot of that. My job was obtained through an accounting agency and it was because I had the relevant experience

I think you need to be extremely careful as not too offend people by saying that about education!

Both my husband and I are educated (not as well as you, obviously) but NS has prevented us both from doing well with its small minded attitude hence the reason for leaving as soon as possible.

I think its great when people do well here, but for some (lots) its an extremely frustrating place to 'try' and get on and the point that houses are cheap has little bearing on why on earth I'd want to stay.

Exactly, I wasn't ganging up on anyone just hoping that people could be honest on this thread to avoid disillusioning the op , that is all

.
No offence meant,. I have just noticed here that even the dental hygenist has a massive student debt. It appears to be not uncommon to have about $35k+ of student debt for most types of professions from Dental Hygenists through to Massage Therapists to Accountants.
Those that havent got a degree dont seem to stand much chance, which is a shame

I find that to be less true for Nova Scotia than NL - Who you know may help you get a foot in the door but ultimately its the "what you know" that gets you the job

I have lived in NS and currently work out of NS so have some qualifications to stick my oar in a bit

ps - I personally think that Nova Scotia is a bit shit and I dont think I would ever make the move from the UK to NS without either a big safety net or a well paying job
