If you are referring to somewhere on the edge of the country, then either Vancouver Island, Queen Charlotte's or Newfoundland.

Ha ! Lol - We're currently looking at properties in St Ives, Cornwall, UK.

Yep - Through research, parts of Vancouver Island seem like a lovely place to live. I also looked into Queen Charlotte's - Nice little place, though unsure about the work side of things/seems abit too on the quiet side.

I'm sure you'll get ton's of help with this, as i'm sure there are plenty of places fairly similar to the Cornwall lifestyle.

I'm not changing my mind btw - I'm far too in love with Europe to be trekking elsewhere.

Cornwall = milder weather, large tourism industry & best beaches. That's very similar to Vancouver Island.

PS - don't move to Canada for the beaches

Yes, there is. An hour or two east of Kingston on the 401. It's the last sizeable community before you reach the dark side.

From reading about it quickly, seems its something of an environmental disaster:eek: Not a place for the tourists then.

I will check in there for the night, as I am headed to the dark side myself.

I surfed near Tofino in January. A 5mm wet suit worked fine.

Try Lawrencetown Beach Nova Scotia they surf all year round apparently:ohmy:.
They have to wear their winter woolies or I think they call them dry suits:unsure:
In the summer it is just wet suits that are required.;)

The OP question is interesting for me, as my family and I love surfing and obviously nice clean beaches where it's safe to surf. Can't say I'm much good at it, but I try

But, when researching BC I looked at Tofino and the bays there. OK - I know they are just piccies, but we were going out for a reccie trip in Oct and I did want to explore the beaches around, it was something on my list, (we've now decided Canada isn't for us afterall, not because of the surfing btw). But those bay's in Tofino looked quite nice, must have been a good photographer then according to Rob_999. Ha !

Message to Kiddy2ns - Just out of interest. Are the beaches any better in NS ?

Hi Katie76

Now we are very bias as we are moving to Lawrentown next month.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
We have found the beaches are just as good as BC.
We do not surf so all waves look the same to us:confused:
