Cool Place for a walk!
1 Attachment(s)
Up the Nihahi Creek ..... part of the Elbow River Trail in Kananaskis up past Bragg Creek.
It's a hanging valley which is dried up during the summer. Our old doggie found some parts a bit difficult though!! :p |

That looks pretty scarey to me! What happens if you slip off those poles - is it a big long fall? Are you ever seen again?

Those were the bits our dog couldn't manage, but there was a trail along the top of the canyon to bypass the difficult bits if you needed. I'd say it was moderately difficult but bypassable ..... maybe not suitable for the elderly or wheelchair users though! |

Re: Cool Place for a walk!
It's a bit of a hike to get there ... or you can use bikes for the first couple of miles ..... then you turn off the trail and climb a steep side trail up through the woods. My boys balked at that bit .... they didn't believe me that they could not walk right up the creek from the bottom. (didn't understand the "hanging valley" concept meant there was a vertical cliff at some point!)
But they were pleased to make the effort, they really enjoyed the clambering about in the dried up canyon part. I'd say it was good for pre-teens upwards. Bit much for small kiddies, and our old doggie, as I say, thought we were barmy! :D |
