is it cool/cold in the evening in July in Banff
Hi all, at the end of our holiday in July (travelling Vancouver to Calary) in our RV, we will be staying a few days in Revelstoke and a few days in Banff and Calgary, I read somewhere that it is still cool/cold in evening/night and to bring blankets!!!! Is this right, only I haven't planned to pack these and am wondering how Im going to pack six flippin blankets... Does it really get a lot colder in evening?
Cheers again to all those in the know ;) |
Re: is it cool/cold in the evening in July in Banff
It might be cool - I doubt it will be 'cold' - it might even be really hot and humid. We did a mini road trip (in hotels) two summers ago and when I booked our hotel room each night, my first question was "Do you have air conditioning?" :o It was about 36-38 degrees in the day, and didn't drop much below about 22 at night for those few days - stuffy and stifling in a small room with four people !
Presumably the RV comes with bedding? I guess you could hire extra if you wanted to - or just put on a fleece if it gets a bit chilly. Regardless - have fun |

Re: is it cool/cold in the evening in July in Banff
Last time i was there in July 2006 it was boiling through the day and nice at night. Are you staying in the RV still at that point? If so you'll have sheets provided that will be perfectly fine.

Re: is it cool/cold in the evening in July in Banff
Having been in Banff last weekend for two nights I would say yes it will be cool oops sorry I mean yes it will be warm.
OR to put it another way, this is Alberta and even in Banff you CAN NOT rely on the weather being consistent. One night could be 'stiffling' the next can be 'brass monkeys'. As Ann says the RV SHOULD come with bedding, otherwise wear all your clothes. Oh and dont forget waterproof lightweight and heavyweight jackets. :p |

You'll be fine so relax and enjoy. Also, in Banff, make sure you're down the main street at 3pm as they let the wildlife out for an hour to stretch their legs. |

Yes it can be cool at nights. We camped twice in Banff last summer- once at tunnel mountain in Aug and it was very chilly at night (for one of the two nights) and once at Two jack lakeside in July and it was very chilly at night and din't warm up until quite late the next day (10 am ish).

Re: is it cool/cold in the evening in July in Banff
We rented a RV for our reccie trip (lateJune early July), it did come with bedding/duvets and we were warm enough. There were some chilly days where I was glad to have had a fleece with me - most RV's have heating too so you should really be OK.
Yesterday was lovely and warm - today it's cold so as others have said you can't really rely on the weather don't pack just shorts and t-shirts:rofl: |

sniff ... it's snowing! :(
Yesterday was glorious! It's mountain weather. Can (and often does) snow at any time of year! |
