Container shipping?
 

Hi all, we fly out on the 2/4/09 on PR visa's to Vancouver and have been told by a shipping company we were going to use that they would only ship to Montreal and then we would have to sort out getting it to Van ourselves.:curse:
We got in contact with a couple other companies but not many want to do business with us as we own the container (it is new and ok to ship)and have packed it ourselves ( full itemized lists ). They have also said to us that because of this we would be very unlikely to be able to get insurance for it. Also we were told that because of this customs were more likely to search it and a large cost would be incurred for the search and holding of the container in quarantine.

Has anybody packed and shipped a 20' container themselves and what problems did you encounter with shipping and customs. Starting to panic as not much time left.

Have you tried Robinsons,they are really good not sure if they can help ,we used their container,they packed it all and documented every box and what was in it!!!!! so yes you might have a problem at customs
