Costs in small claims are limited to the filing fee and interest. The SC does not help with recovery, however if you get a judgment it could be a problem for the business. Some seem more concerned than others.

There is always the satisfaction as well.

Don't forget that this depends upon the applicable Rules of Court, which in turn depends upon the Province. In Alberta, legal costs are payable, although nothing like the actual costs which are likely to be incurred.
