When the fuse eventually blows it would be nice to be able to replace it rather than throw away a perfectly good electrical device all because of a 50p fuse. It wont be "safe", but the appliance will work again, and all that sort of consumer stuff is double insulated anyway. |

If you cant find one at radio shack (or wherever) just wrap some tin foil around the old one and stick it back in.

When my Mum last came over she brought two jars in her suitcase. At the immigration desk she was asked if she had any presents. She admitted to the marmite and was asked what it was. Apparently it is quite hard to describe. I believe that after several minutes it was recorded as jam.

You are a loss adjuster's dream.
Of course the sensible option is just to ask a british acquaintance to send you a few, but tin foil is closer to living on the edge. |

Could be. I have noticed an olfactory similarity between marmite and exterior caulk.

How could you dare to suggest wasting precious marmite on the driveway? (then again, I wouldn't want to spready driveway sealing compound on my toast either...)

Oh don't get me wrong, I love marmite as does Mrs AX. But it would be an easier explanation to the average Canadian than a yeast compound which is a byproduct of the brewing industy. At which point you probably get asked to declare it as duty free!

I never had Peanut Butter until 2.5 years ago. I never had a Peanut Butter and jam sandwich until 3 weeks ago. I didn't have a corn on the cob until I was 25. I didn't have a slice of watermelon until I was 18. |
