Hi All,
With my three years approaching fast..........
Anyone recently done the citizenship test ?
Was the whole process reasonably quick ?
Any pointers / suggestions ?
Cheers

Based on people on other forums going through the process the above time line is fairly accurate.

CIC used to have a sample test, study booklet on their website, try google, I am sure its still there somewhere.

I hit my 2 years + 1 year credit for time spent in Canada in January, but need the $$ to apply.

lol, you wait 3 years to be able to apply, then have to wait another 15 months for the application to process..

I think the timeline varies across Canada. I got citizenship at the end of September 2005. My citizenship card bears a date of May 2005. That is when the photo was taken, so I must have applied in May. The timeline seems pretty short. Maybe it was a rush job? My test and ceremony were on the same morning, which isn't normal.

I was thinking of asking the very same question jerry! :D

I sent our citizenship application 2 weeks ago ..... I'm hoping that the grade 11 socials class I work in will help me with some of the test questions

No, it takes about 6 or 7 months from date of application to swearing-in ceremony.

I sat the citizenship test in Feb and you have 30 mins to answer 20 questions. Yes you have to read "A Look at Canada" and practice the dummy tests online but it is a breeze to be honest. The questions are very basic and a lot of the ones you see in the online tests are not even in the actual citizenship test.

I sent my application off in July 2008, got my letter of acknowledgement in October and sat the test in Feb 2009. I have just heard that I will get my letter regarding the date of the ceremony pretty soon.

I sent my citizenship application on November 12, 2008 and haven't heard anything from them yet. I know of another BE member, who I am in contact with and he has sent his in October and hasn't heard from them .. so it looks like the waiting times are going up

Agreed. The dummy test seemed much harder than the real one which I found very, very easy. Simple process.

My kids (both born in Toronto) have Canadian and British passports and as I was born in Northern Ireland they can get Irish ones too.
