Hi

Can anyone advise me please...

I put my application in Feb 2005 and received the AOR March 2005, thus far I have been patient and from reading all the posts on this site appreciate the wait is long.. however when you look at the definition of In Process on the CIC e-client thingy it states that CIC are reviewing your application & can be returned incomplete for re-submission !

Does anyone have any experience of having their application returned & if so how long after they submitted - just wondering whether after 11 months if all ok with paperwork or is there a chance it could be returned ?

Also, I have just seen that the London Office have an e-mail address (not seen before) has anyone had e-mails from this ?

They should have done a preliminary screening to ensure all essential documents are there before they sent the AoR. Maybe it happens, but I've never heard of an application being returned for being incomplete after the AoR was sent out.

I've not heard of anyone having it returned at that stage from London. Some people are asked for further information and clarification however. And there are people who are declined after all that waiting.

I've e-mailed them and had a response, but I know if you try e-mailing them before the time stated on your AOR card then they're not prone to answering. I sent them information and updates while we were waiting for the application to be processed, but just used their fax number.

Not seen that link before & the quote of 39 months ! I have tended to just check my application via the online function & try to forget about the rest. Thought we may hear something by Sept 06 maybe be out by 2007 is that being too realistic ?

Having just had another look at the processing times for all visa offices does anyone understand how percentage of cases adds up ie.

30% finalized in 21 months
50% in 27 months
70% in 40 months
80% in 44 months

am I stupid - why does this add to 230% ?? arent percentages based on total being 100% ??

Not being thick just being literal.
each % is included in the next ie 50% in 27 months includes the 30% finalized in 21 months

You're essentially me, just a year later. We had hoped to hear by Sept 05 and be out early 2006. In the end, we got medicals early 2006 and are hoping to be out in the next 6 months. I know the processing time has been getting longer in the year between us. I think second-guessing it is essentially impossible. Hence everyone's advice to just get on with life and forget about the application until you do hear. Either that or come up with Plan B and look for employment for a work permit. I think it's possibly unlikely you'll hear by Sept 06, but you never know. A lot can happen between now and then.

i received an email from CIC on jan 24th in response to a letter that they received on dec 31st 2005.
i was amazed. i am withdrawing my application and i wanted to know if i would get my procesing fees and ROLF back. they confirmed i would get both back.
only applied july 2005 and AOR august 2005.

Is it just the processing time that has made you withdraw the application ? Obviously, if it's for other reasons, they I don't mean to pry.

i realised about the processing times and that was no probs as i could have got a work permit if i got inpatient.
didn't want to bore anyone with the reason, but i will!
i took 4 months to do the application and my hubby just did nowt to help although he wants to go.
canada is a hard country to get a job and i thought the apathy already shown by him would put us in a mess when it comes to him getting a job as he has no intention of retraining (he is 42 and has no qualifs).
i feel to emigrate that u u need to be over-motivated and innovative. he does not have those characteristics an i am not into suffering.
i love reading this forum and will continue to do so. but one thing that sticks out is the optimism and determination showed by alot of couples.
still think it is a fab idea to go!

sorry you cant follow your dreams, is he like this over everything or just the imigration thing? my husband is similar, although he is desperate to go he tends to let me do everything. Just kick his arse...
How does he feel about you withdrawing? Sorry if I'm being nosey, just tell me to s*d off if you like, dont mean to pry just curious...

u are not prying at all!!
chris is consistent so his attitude permeates everything!!!
he is not happy about it although he has not said anything. gonna send the formal request letter off tommorrow and i will be getting him to sign tonite.
a friend of mine asked: did u do the application?
i told chris and he said : i bet she knows that u control everything.
actually she asking as she figured that he had done nothing, not that i was controlling!!! i even had to do the CV. it is a real shame i think, esp for the boys aged 7 and 4. chris and i have been together since 1984, sdo i should have known a bit better!!!!
