Chips in Calgary

Hiya folks.

For over 2 years I have embraced everything Canadian and I am now DESPERATE for some authentic chippie chips, not the over-cooked fries that have been advertised as 'proper British chips'. I want soggy, yellow, salt & vinegar soaked chips wrapped in paper mmmmm.

I heard of a new chippy in Bridlewood and also heard it's not too good... does anyone know of anywhere in Calgary/Cochrane/Airdrie that I can get a 'fix'?

Ta ;)

I agree with Piff Poff. You are only going to get something resembling chippy chips if you make your own. Try "fatter" ones to stop them getting crispy maybe?

Why not resign yourself that it's not going to happen for you here, but you can get Weetabix according to another "long" thread, so why don't you go for that.

What you have to do is make really fat chips (chippy fat), fry them and then keep them warm in a preheated oven while your frying the fish, you may have to dip 'em in the fryer a second time but soggy fish'n'chips is acheivable!

Or whose taste buds are involved.
