Changing a BC license to a UK one
Ok, so I'm 10 months behind, but I've just read that from Jan 2013 you can't simply change your BC (or Canadian) license to a UK one. You can change it to drive automatics, but not manuals. You'd need to prove that you can drive a manual by proving you passed the test. If not, you need to retake the test.
So how do you prove that you passed the test. Do they keep records?

Do you still have your paper counterpart? Surely that has the date it was issued and all the vehicle categories you passed for (ie. manuals) on it?

you have to hand the paper license over when you exchange British to Ontario license. Not sure for how long the DVLA have to keep their records. Maybe some old insurance docs would work?

Well, no copies here. It's not my license by the way. I decided not to change mine, but probably would have kept a copy. Thank you.

Are you aware that you can only drive on a UK licence for 3 months in BC if you're a permanent resident? Perhaps you're not driving at all.
