I had some Chrysler minivans, I always felt cheated when they were delivered, there was always some catch; something I thought I had paid for that was missing. I had a Jeep Cherokee Limited but it broke down after 52 km (!) and they wouldn't honour the warantee due to "excessive use". Since I hadn't even got home from the dealership I thought that unreasonable. I switched to Ford. I've done better with Ford.

Sorry Rich - you're quite right! My opinion on Chryslers? Wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole! Sorry, but that's how I feel about them, and we have looked at them - seemed very 'cheap' and flimsy. They also miserably fail the safety criteria for me As I said on another thread, I will no longer even consider 'domestic' when it comes to vehicles, there is SO much better out there.

Yes - of course we have snow clearance, but the city stopped doing residential/side roads a few years back (cuts), and I also live semi-rural.

Never going to set pulses racing...but the stow and go seats look like a fantastic idea.

Not going to drive like a Honda or Toyota, or keep its value like one, and maybe not as reliable in the long run, but then it costs substantially less too.

For a new van to move kids / stuff around its the choice of thousands of Canadians, there are certainly better vans outs there, but maybe not new ones for that sort of money?

So I guess the only choice, for those of us wanting a bit more power and torque than an average four-wheeled shoebox can deliver, is the SUV.
Sure, whatever floats your boat -- I have no beef with SUVs. I just wouldn't buy a Jeep.

They get the same reputation here in the UK

They apparantly got slated by ENCAP ( think thats the governing body, the crash test dummy people ), for being bad in front end smashes, and for having a flimsy body shell.

To think this thread was all about someone asking advice !!!!!!!

Rich that will teach you !!!!!
