Hi guys

I am wondering if anyone knows a major brand car rental company around the Mississauga/Oakville area that maintains a reasonably ample inventory of vehicles and is open till late.

I usually pre-book intermediate sized cars online but depending on the weather conditions I request upgrade to SUVs on the spot if needed. That is usually not a problem at the airport location because they have all sorts of cars available at any given time and is also open 24/7 but at locations outside the airport it could be a hit and miss. Getting rental car from the airport is great when you are flying in but that is not always the case with me so I’d rather pick my car where its more convenient.

Any pointers from locals would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

If you’re going to be so close to pearson can you not just back there to pick up a car?

Great point, but the area where I am usually at in Oakville is like 45 kms away from YYZ. In normal traffic this is about 35 minutes drive one way. So I am thinking if I can save myself the drive and hassle then why not.

And if you think about it, it would good for the environment too

Valid point. The only other one I’ve ever used is Enterprise in Burlington but that’s a fair distance too

There are quite a few rental places in Oakville. Enterprise is on Trafalgar close to the GO station (At least I think its still there). I have rented from them a couple of times at very short notice and they have always produced a vehicle. There is a Budget on Speers Road and 4th Line too.

You are welcome, there are quite a few more places too, the issue might be the open until late thing. A lot less likely than at an airport.

Don't forget to compare rates with Costco (if you are a member) you'd be surprised at how much you can save.

You can check the opening hours on Google - though I would double check on their websites too. Zoom appeared to be the latest opening (9pm).

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately we are only allowed to book the cars through our company's central booking system (and the agent rips them off royally!), and I don't think Costco would be on their list.
