I am moving to BC in a month,i have just sold the car and want to know should i cancel my UK car insurance now, or let it run for another month so as there is no break between my UK car insurance ending and my BC insurance starting, i have all the information from my previous insurance over the last 7 years, (as in "car insurance no claims on the wiki" start date end date letters) do you have to get insurance with in a specific time period of your last UK insurance endingand if so how long have you got

Cancel it now Andy, you'll be here in a few weeks and ICBC won't have a problem with a break of a month or two.

Just to confirm - I stopped mine shortly before leaving and had no problems. You will need to ensure that you have records for all the no claims years and show no break (except for a valid reason such as selling the car before you left). I got 8 years worth of no claims from ICBC when I came - I think this is the maximum they will recognize.
