Car Insurance & Home contents Insurance
Hi Folks,
I will need to purchase home content insurance in the next few days followed by car insurance for my wife in a few weeks. Can anyone suggest who you would purchase this from and is bundling the two together with the one company better in terms of discounts etc.
Kind Regards
Farmboy.

What province?
Some provinces such as BC require basic car insurance to be purchased through the provincial car insurer with only optional coverage being bought elsewhere.
For contents insurance in BC we use Square One, they have reasonable prices and let you easily tailor the policy to your needs not needing to spend money on coverage you don't need.
We pay about $25 a month for contents insurance which also includes other coverage like 3 million liability, earthquake coverage, loss of residence coverage etc.

The OP is in ON.
Yes, there are discounts for bundling. I'd start with an insurance broker, not an agent but a broker.

Re: Car Insurance & Home contents Insurance
I used a broker. Car insurance and home insurance bundled. Car insurance cheaper but home insurance more expensive, than the plan I currently had. But still feel like I am being ripped off, car insurance is painfully expensive.
