Might be worth sharing this on the basis of the huge difference between premiums offered by different companies here in Canada.

I have had car insurance with Economical Mutual as arranged thru a broker in Canada since Nov 2017. For a second hand Nissan Murano initially in Ottawa, but now in London. I was granted an initial 1 years no claims credit in recognition of my 30 years no claim in the UK (yeah, wow huh?). I now have Canadian n9 claims since that date and currently pay $1700 pa.

I thought I would test the market again, after both the RBC and TD web quotes crashed part way thru, I called TD for a quote. Loads of questions later and the quote I got was $3000pa. He quickly started taking about 5% off if I did x or 10% off if I put house insurance with them. I just laughed and said they were so far adrift, it was not worth continuing.

Im not gonna go off on one about how expensive it is in Canada (it just is, end of story). I post this as an indication of the huge variation in pricing between providers, even with Canadian no claims. It pays to shop around and brokers over here still have their uses IMHO.

A word for the Economical Mutual. I sent them this picture from the side of the road and they responded immediately that they would put the incident on the "total loss fast track". The claim was settled, fairly IMO, in the blink of an eye.

Yes, two full face helmets actually (although I prefer a 3/4 helmet).

Minivan ran the stop sign, I hit it, more or less head on, at 60mph. The Mustang was not repaired.

Nice, in that two wheeled kind of way. Getting dressed to go out in the summer is too much faff for me..

The Mustang was the daily driver and commuting car. When I got it we only had that and the truck so it had to be a comprise vehicle and do most everything. By the time of the crash I had the Healey for Sundays so I bought a commuting car, a 2015 C-Max, for the weekday grind. Covid came along and there was no more daily grind, prices were depressed so I got another convertible, an older BMW, for summer use. I suppose the recently acquired convertible replaces the Mustang.

I don't think the new Mustang has a convertible option so I wouldn't look at it.
