Car Battery - Halifax/Dartmouth...
Where is the best place to get one of these - I have seen one in CT but it seems SO expensive - surely there are more places that sell them. They just seem to be hiding from me at the moment.
Thanks

Almost all auto repair shops sell/install batteries. Costco Auto Dept will be one of the cheapest and, of course, all car dealerships sell/install.

Getting the cheapest battery is perhaps a false economy, but there are diminishing return as you go more and more expensive too.
Is there a "Parts Source" where you are. Still CT owned, but generally cheaper and more selection. Otherwise try places like NAPA etc in the phone book. (under "Automobile Parts and Supplies" in the yellow pages)
Also, remember that if its anything like Ontario you will get a refund for your old battery...part of the cost of the new one is an environmental deposit...

Well I know I browsed round my local Canadian tire the other day and they had several car batteries. You could always ring them up and ask

Is the battery dead? It might not be a battery problem and a new one will be dead soon too.

We just bought one at Costco, it was half the price the dealer wanted. Always found Costco's Kirkland brnad to be good quality. This only helps of course if you're a member of Costco. They will take your old battery off you and recylce it as well.

My Costco membership has just run out as well! $109 seems to be my best price (with Canadian Tire giving us $10 plus taxes if we bring in the old one).

Aaahh a little reading is in store for you.

Essentially the more cold cranking amps the better chance of it starting your car when it gets really cold.
This thread does have the potential to turn into a block heater discussion.
I'll leave now.
