That's strange....it seems to have kept Disney Inc. in good stead. They're not the sort of company to spend cash without a good reason.

There's probably many others (Richard Branson uses it, did I hear?) but they keep it quiet because of responses as in this thread
There are very many eastern immigrants living and coming to Canada and I think perhaps there should be more openmindedness about Eastern Culture if you plan to move here.
Proof of the pudding is it appears to have worked against all odds. Interesting.

It's okay, Tones. You can let your kids make a right mess. It won't make any difference to your efforts to sell your house.
And what were those Britons on about when they coined the phrase, Cleanliness is next to godliness?

The science of Feng Shui is thousands of years old. Looking at a few pictures and making some common sense comments, is just that, but definitely not Feng Shui. It would take a site visit numerous calculations and hours of analysis to give a complete Feng Shui Report of any property. After years of study and practice and being sought out for advice on millions of pounds of property investments, I thought I was qualified to make a few hopefully helpful comments, especially after most of the usual steps had been tried over a period of 2 years on my partners property resulting in NO SALE.
I sold the property during the same (January - March) time of year you are looking at now.
Unfortunately without any accurate direction measurements and build date for the property, one cannot help further.
"If a doctor makes a wrong diagnosis of a patient, he effects one person. If a Feng Shui Consultant makes a wrong diagnosis of a property he effects all it's inhabitants"

Re: Can't sell the house and no plan B
Hi everyone ,
I'm Mrs.Tones btw .
Thanks fgor all your great suggestions. Those of you that have been in our position know how frustrating it can be .
We have removed the extremely large tv from the lounge and put a much more 'homely' sized tv in its place, much to o/h annoyance .
We have also taken down the trampoline. Tbh in my pots outside the front of the house there are flowers but not winter ones , so on your good advice I shall go and purchase some pansies etc to brighten up the front abit. Its hard trying to make the garden look appealing in winter because everything is dead .
Its funny how when we purchased our house it was everything too us, it was where we were going to live forever and we put blood, sweat & tears into it.The lounge (fireplace & reclaimed floor), new kitchen etc etc but now its just a mill-stone around our necks.
vicky

Google, House for cash, theres lots of companies willing to get a bargain, see what they can do as you say you are already dropping the price anything is worth a try and if you count what it will cost and the stress caused by living apart maybe worth the loss ?
hope Ebay goes well very good presentation with floor layout etc
I have an Estate agent coming at 11 so will be in your shoes pretty soon, will ask him what ways we can market anymore tips will pass on
all the best sue

Hiya - we did this already, we were offered what we paid for it 5 years ago, made me feel like going round there and giving him a slap.:curse:
Interestingly, I planted the seed with my new boss in Canada to buy it and he actually made me an offer for it yesterday, it was to low though so we are currently negotiating right now.
Fingers crossed for everyone in our situation!!

Re: Can't sell the house and no plan B
Hello Mrs T, I know exactly what you mean, our house is a converted coach house, blood, sweat, tears and tantrums ensued with that one I can assure you!
Now we just want it gone and I know that dropping the price further (already down by £50k) will attract buyers, but we also don't want to give it away.
So we are going to keep it as is until spring when the market in 'sunny' Wells Next The Sea picks up with the London folk wanting a quaint getaway for the weekend (yep the market is that specialised ) and see what happens.
I see it as all part of the adventure and the old saying "when the time is right" will happen for all in our position.
here's a link to ours again for all those who haven't seen it before!!!
http://www.beltonduffey.com/444.html
Of course its now empty (might get the estate agent round to take some pics of it being empty it might look bigger as it is rather small )

Its gorgeous, I know Wells quite well(excuse the pun!) as I come from Norfolk originally.
Gorleston never had quite the same appeal as Wells did though
Good luck with your sale as well

Re: Can't sell the house and no plan B
Just a thought, have you checked out this site
"How to sell property with or without an estate agent. Everything you need to know about property lawyers, hips, avoiding house repossession, cash homebuyers ..."
www.theadvisory.co.uk
We found them very helpful and chap even gave us a call back to talk us through what we had and hadn't tried - no charge! They can also help with arranging for another agent in your area to come and revalue - this would normally be an agent in your area that is performing better than the rest.
Sometimes you need to take time to look around you and see what other folk with similar properties are selling for and make yours look even better value for money. We had trouble getting the viewings with lots of similar ish houses around us in the same situation although ours is alot bigger. We reduced ours well below any of the others and in so doing new agent managed to get us 8 viewings in just under a week and a half. We set the price as a guide price and were told that this would hopefully create lots of offers (although not guaranteed in this current market). We did get 4 offers after the 1st week and some were appalling but you have to try and live in hope that may cause sealed bids and you can then choose who you want to buy.
We sold a week before xmas and decided although the price was way under what we wanted, the buyers were in a very small chain with 1st timers buying their propery.
Ours is a large semi-det 5 bed with double garage and we sold for £205 - yes it is pretty horrible I know but after watching Tonight with Trevor last night probably glad we did! Nasty bloke on there reckons market could spiral downwards as much as 30% over the next 3 yrs.
Fingers crossed for you. BTW House looks great!

Re: Can't sell the house and no plan B
[thread drift]
I stopped in Wells on a round britain powerboat raid a few years back. The evening was memorable for the very decent beer at the yacht club and the lock in at the pub we were staying at but mainly because the owner of the boat I was on, fell over in said pub and broke his arm that night which left me in charge for the rest of the trip!
[/thread drift]
Nice house btw. I imagine it would sell as a holiday home with no problems.
DI5NEY: Gorleston certainly lacks the appeal of Wells. (I grew up near Beccles.)
