There is. I get paid every month by a transfer from a UK account that isn't mine to my Cdn account. Beware that there are fees. My employer pays them all.

As long as they (the UK side) have the info below they can do it easily. This info can be got from your bank or probably even your cheque book.

My office manager recently asked me for the swift code. Not sure if it's the same as a transit number but I got it off Scotia with a single phonecall.

IIRC the Swift code is called the BIC in Europe (not sure for the UK). BIC = Bank Identification Code. It's not strictly necessary but it's often asked for in addition to the IBAN.
