People in nations with a history of crap TV, such as Canada and Australia, did not invent these clubs.
I never said they did, it just seems that there is a much larger proportion of canadians out there doing charitable deeds then I remember in the UK.

You argument is faulty anyway, as it seems to imply that there are still countries where the TV is not crap

Each to their own I think i've seen it playing on PBS or somewhere, although i think it's about 10 years behind.

Yep...you'll need to invest in a PVR or video recorder to skip the repetitive adverts. Then it becomes almost bearable.

Wow....that takes me back to my teens.

When we lived in Wales I caught my dad watching that on a few occasions......he couldn't understand a word of it, (he's cockney) but he's as deaf as a post.

It probable sounded good to him!!!!

I don't think UK TV is that bad generally, I'm always learning something from BBC 4 (TV) - okay, I then cancel it out with crap like Celeb Big Bro at the moment but there is lots of good British TV out there

Even the dreaded Sky is pulling its socks up - did anyone see "Hogfather" just before Xmas, pretty good.

What annoys me about TV here is the lack of HBO. That's just pathetic.

You can just tune in to the web site....they play clips of each show.

I have to say I did miss Casualty & Holby City.

I have now moved on to CSI, get them on DVD though, I hate commercials

Yep its bad......... I have watched much less TV since I came to Canada, which is a good thing.

Programs that are ok (all American)

ER
HOUSE
ocassionally I watch BROTHERS and SISTERS

I got really into the weather channel when I first arrived. I found it very informative, although my OH got fed up of me spouting boring facts and statistics about the weather.

We had HBO until about six months ago, using a grey market dish. I expect that still works but I got banned from the pub where the guy with the hacks drinks!
