Welcome to BE.

I have moved your thread over to our Canada forum. No doubt someone will be around soon to help you.

Re: Canadian navy

I would suggest contacting the Canadian Forces recruitment service directly. There seems to be a citizenship requirement:
Apply Now

However in rare & very specialised cases, there may be a citizenship waiver possible.

You may be looking at this the wrong way round. Talk to RN personnel about secondment, see what ops there might be. You don't say your rank, usually only officers, but if you have a specialised skill, it may work.

Do we have a Navy?
The garage sale subs we bought off the Brits seem to be always being fixed.
Several frigates also being fixed.
If your idea of serving on dry land then sure go ahead

To apply to the Forces, you must:

Be a Canadian Citizen.
Be 17 years of age, with parental consent, or older, except:
Regular Officer Training Plan – Junior applications must be 16 or older.
Reserve Force - Applicants may be 16 years of age if they are also enrolled as a full-time high school student.
Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondaire IV (in Quebec).
Certain entry programs and occupations require higher levels of education.

It is possible, but not as much these days (we are here as a result of this). Usually officers, and rarely. Best bet is get an exchange position over here first.

Ahhh yes. Those...

Saw those being 'upgraded' when I was in the shipyard on several construction projects.

The Canadian Navy were responsible for quite a lot of immigration from Barrow-in-Furness too, thanks to the 'local hospitality'...
