Default Canadian Affair fly in the Winter.

Our Zoom flight for christmas has been scrapped. Does anyone know if canadian affair operates over the winter. Their website still doesn't show flights
for December yet. I was wondering with the price of fuel whether or not they have decided to scrap the winter flights this year.

I am pretty certain the Canadian Affair only operates from May-October. My Christmas flight is booked with Air Canada, more expensive I know.

Hi

Heres a link to their winter/summer schedule page, you can enter to/from and it will show if they fly during winter season

http://www.canadianaffair.com/en/flight_schedules/

edited to add although it would seem their destinations are limited!

We are trying to book flights for December. I rang Canadian Affair and can confirm as 'Caia Two' already stated, do not operate during the Winter months.

End of October to May Air Canada only. No other airlines have done/do this period as far as I know.

Air Transat do and have done so for many a year, we've used them over Christmas several times.

Edit: sorry Pf, I see you're in Nova Scotia, they might not operate Winter flights from that end of the country but certainly do from Vancouver / Calgary / Toronto.

Generally greatly cheaper/friendlier than Air Canada if you don't mind the reduced legroom (although you can pay for an upgrade like most charters).

They're part of a larger travel group with a high-street presence, over here at least, so hopefully a little more secure than airline-only charters like Zoom (but never say never, right?)

This is link for booking from the UK, if you're coming that way.

Cheers, Iain

Our daughter and her boyfriend are booked over to Calgary for Christmas with Canadian Affair. You have to book early in the year if you want to fly Canadian Affair, we had our daughters flight booked in March, her boyfriend booked his only a few weeks later.

Looks like they don't do Manchester after September.

They do however do Gatwick (admittedly that might not be a preferred option for you).

Vancouver to Gatwick on December 2nd, 9th, 17th, 24th, 31st; Jan 7th, 14th.

Gatwick to Vancouver on December 3rd, 10th, 18th, 25th; Jan 1st, 8th.

I see from the booking URLs there's some shared shennanegans going on with Canadian Affair over those dates so you might end up on a Thomas Cook or MyTravel flight.

Hi All

We have booked our flights with Canadian Affair for next month and returning in October, we are flying with Thomas Cook. I have just looked on their website and they have flights for December although it is with Air Transat, so the answer to your question is yes they do operate in December, Good Luck!

The oil gets too cold, so to save changing to winter grade they fly south in the winter to Mexico, Florida etc.

In response to the question do they fly in winter. First Canadian Affair don't fly anywhere, they are a booking agent not an airline, they book for Air Transat and Thomas Cook flights.

Moving on, oil to lubricate the moving parts of the turbines, in winter it gets colder in Europe & Canada, oil gets too thick, does not lubricate parts properly, thus the replacing it with winter grade. This costs money, to save on cost of changing oil, they fly aeroplanes to warmer climates so oil is thinner, thereby not needing to go to the expense of changing oil.

Not really! It does somewhat lose the attempt at humour once one has to explain.
