then again when is the next time we will get a night out in van without the kids? assuming we do get a job/visa/move out there etc.
Not for small town games...$2 maybe, or a donation to the food bank. We are not talking NHL here! The NHL wont tell you anything about the real canada.

Its not about the game

Yeah it's a nice little place. Nice beer, nice food, and great views. We stayed in the penthouse last time and it's larger than our London apartment

And very expensive. The nearby Lynn Valley bridge is scarier and free.

Yep, it's not called the Capilano Expensive Bridge for nothing.

I second the Lynn Valley alternative

Can't say I've ever actually been cold in Vancouver ... sweaters and a waterproof are probably enough.

Describe everything mundane and average as awesome. Don't even think that anywhere in the world does anything better than Canada does or that Canadians do.

Even though most places do.

Don't worry about the coldness. If it's your first night, you'll be too unconscious to notice

When my kids were little we used to travel up to Edmonton for the Timbits minor hockey tournament ... now that's fun

Too many parents out there who think little Tommy is going to play in the NHL ... takes the fun out of the game ... reality is there's something like a 0.1% chance of that happening even if your kid makes it into an A team.

You may not want to pack jumpers. Sweaters would be better.
